What time is check-in and check-out?
Cottages are ready from 4pm on arrival day, and we ask for them back by 10am on departure day so housekeeping can turn them round for the next guests.
Can we bring the dog?
Many cottages welcome dogs; each cottage page says so under its name. There is a small charge per dog per stay, and we ask that dogs stay off the furniture and on a lead near the lake.
How does booking more than one cottage work?
Use the village builder: tell it how many of you there are and it proposes a combination of cottages, shows one total and sends one enquiry. You get one confirmation and one invoice.
Can we fish the lake?
The 3-acre lake is stocked for coarse fishing and kept for guests. Ask at reception when you arrive.
Is there wifi?
Yes, superfast broadband in every cottage and in the hall, at no extra charge.
How far are the shops and pubs?
Two Dales village is walkable, Matlock is ten minutes by car, and Bakewell, Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are all within twenty minutes.
Do you host weddings and events?
Yes: a licensed ceremony space, the Darwin Hall for up to 150 guests, and cottages so everyone can stay. Start on the Weddings page, where you can check your date straight away.
